A psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive evaluation that helps us understand how a child, teen, or adult learns. It looks at cognitive abilities (like memory, attention, and problem-solving), academic skills (like reading, writing, and math), and emotional or behavioural factors that may be affecting learning. The goal is to uncover strengths and challenges so we can provide clear recommendations for support at school, home, or work.
Anyone who is struggling with learning, attention, or performance in school or work could benefit. This includes children who are falling behind academically, students who seem bright but are underperforming, individuals who may have ADHD, a learning disability, or giftedness, and adults seeking accommodations for college or standardized testing.
Our team has extensive experience providing psychoeducational assessments, as this is the most common type of assessment our office completes. This combination of experience and our high level of education allows us to provide the most beneficial assessment services for you or your child.
Yes, in many cases. The report can be shared with your child’s school to help them access academic accommodations, Individualized Program Plans (IPPs), or additional learning supports. If ADHD or a learning disability is diagnosed, the assessment can also be used to advocate for adjustments such as extra time, quiet testing environments, or specific teaching strategies.

Clarity Psychology acknowledges that our clinic and staff reside on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional gathering place of Indigenous peoples, including the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Métis, Dene, Nakota Sioux, and others. We acknowledge that these lands were colonised in reprehensible ways. We are committed to continuing acts of reconciliation to repair the harm unfairly forced upon those who are the true stewards of this land.
